SitePro - 10 to 500kVA RPA to (4MVA)

True Voltage and Frequency Independent (VFI) technology makes the GE Digital Energy SitePro® UPS one of the most reliable systems available for data security and other demanding critical applications.

SitePro UPS is a three-phase, on-line, intelligent system for centralized power protection. All SitePro UPS models operate in double conversion mode (providing true on-line operation) and are fully compliant with international standards regarding VFI operation.

This continuous on-line UPS is available in models from 10kVA up to 500kVA. For high-power redundant applications, the SitePro UPS can be installed with up to eight units in parallel, achieving power protection up to 4MVA. Redundant Parallel Architecture (RPA) is an exclusive feature of GEDE Product Technology systems, whereby SitePro UPS systems are controlled in a true peer-to-peer configuration with redundancy in all critical elements and functions. This advanced technology provides the greater system reliability for mission critical applications.

The SitePro UPS is also energy efficient. The models up to 40kVA are equipped with IEM (Intelligent Energy Management) to maximize savings on operating costs without compromising security. This innovative feature was recognized by the Swiss Electrical Industry with the ETA Prize for energy conscious applications of technology.

IEM for RPA configuration is a special software package which allows significant reductions in energy consumption and operating cost during low load conditions. Individual inverters, which are not required to sustain the load, can automatically be switched off . Furthermore, the inverters are switched off cyclically, so that every UPS has almost the same amount of operating hours. The IEM mode for RPA can be freely programmed taking care of load changes during the day or degree of redundancy required.

SitePro UPS provides reliable and robust protection for mission critical installations between IT and telecommunications, and infrastructure applications such as airports, hospitals, and financial companies.

Features and Benefits

  • More critical equipment supported: Rated at power factor=0.9 (10-40kVA pf=1), SitePro UPS delivers more active power than other UPS on the market. SitePro UPS also delivers more accurate load qualification, allowing you to support a greater number of today's enterprise computing Power Factor Corrected (PFC) equipment.
  • No single point of failure: RPA is a unique concept that only GEDE Product Technology possesses. With RPA, SitePro UPS UPS are controlled in a true peer-to-peer configuration, where all critical elements and functions are redundant. SitePro UPS is designed to be the most reliable power protection system available on the market today.
  • High efficiency: Thanks to IGBT technology and the new SVM (Space Vector Modulation) strategy, SitePro UPS provides high efficiency up to 94.5%. IEM, combined with RPA, results in the most cost-efficient and reliable UPS solution in the industry.
  • Fully digital: DSP (Digital Signal Processor), flash memory, and SVM strategy are the technology cornerstones of the new age of power quality and reliability.
  • Extremely flexible: SitePro UPS offers tailor-made power protection to comply with your individual installation requirements. Options include passive filter, 12-pulse rectifier, and DCU (Distortion Control Unit). In addition, a comprehensive software suite-PowerJUMP™ for mission control and data protection-covers all your application needs.

Redundant Parallel Architecture™ (RPA™)

Description
Highest standard for reliability
Power reliability is business reliability. Mission critical applications rely on the highest availability of power.

GE's unique RPA technology assures the user of the highest standard of power reliability.
Additional units can be added to increase the total power output of a system.
Because the LP Series is field upgradeable with RPA, the user can add more UPS only when necessary, rather than building the cost of possible future requirements in at the start of a project. Additional units can be added to create a redundant system for increased reliability.

GE's RPA provides true redundancy with no single point of failure - the decentralized bypass, redundant control electronics and redundant batteries support perfect load sharing and fault tolerant operation.

Protection
Short circuit, over temperature and over voltage protection are built in to protect the LP Series against any form of misuse. Backfeed protection, complete protection circuits and excellent overload behaviour ensure outstanding user protection and application security.

Features and Benefits
  • Up to 4 UPS can be connected for a redundant parallel system
  • Decentralised bypass
  • Redundant control electronics
  • Fault tolerant operation
  • No single point of failure - true redundancy
  • Transparent fail over procedure for maintenance or in case of failure

Digital Energy™ STS - Static Transfer Switch CE Model

Description

Static Transfer Switches single/three phase, 25-1000Amp
Static Transfer Switches (STS) are designed to transfer the supply between two independent live AC power sources. Unlike traditional automatic transfer switches (ATS), a static transfer switch provides a fast load transfer (typically 1/4 of a cycle), which ensures uninterrupted operation of sensitive electronic equipment. Load retransfer to the preferred input source is virtually instantaneous (typically 0.1 ms). The basic applications of STS are in automatic systems in the power industry, power supply systems for petrochemical industry, computer and telecommunication centers, automatic and security systems of 'intelligent' buildings as well as other equipment which is sensitive to interruptions in the supply. The excellent overload capability and transfer algorithm enables fast fuse clearance in the event of a short-circuit. As a consequence the voltage immediately returns to normal to supply the other mission critical loads. The built-in transient voltage surge suppression system for SCR switches provides additional protection against damage to the supplied equipment..

The static transfer switch consists of two bidirectional thyristor switches for each phase equipped with a control and protection system. The 2 or 4 pole types have an additional neutral line switch. After failure of the preferred source, the STS checks the state of the alternate power source and transfers the load to whichever source provides power within selectable limits. This transfer can be triggered by disturbance in the preferred source voltage, overcurrent in the source or manual or remote change of the preferred source. With both sources in limits and synchronized (phase error within the acceptable range), manual or remote transfer is performed in less than 200 µs. Transfers initiated by fault conditions in the preferred source depend on the status of the alternate source. For synchronized power sources with phase error within the limits, transfer to an alternate source is made within 6ms delay. Lack of synchronization causes delay before transfer. This time delay is field adjustable

Through their complete life cycle, all GE Power Quality systems are fully supported by service teams which provide world-class, 24x7 preventive and corrective services, training and application expertise.
