The power unit makes use of the most sophisticated semiconductor technology and a highly modular construction that can be flexibly adapted to the customer's needs. With the similar family look and feel, the SLX9000 Drive deliveries your comprehensive drive solutions and everything continues to be included as standard. The integrated AC choke is the most effective way to protect the drive against the over voltage spikes and to reduce the stress on supply transformers, cables and fuses. Installation, connection and commissioning procedures are extremely quick and convenient with easy to use instructions. The SLX9000 Drive is available as an open or enclosed drive, IP21 or IP54. The input and output configuration (I/O) is designed with modularity in mind. The I/O is compromised of option cards, each with its own input and output configuration. The control module is designed to accept a total of two of these cards. The cards contain not only normal analog and digital inputs but also fieldbus cards. Common enclosed SLX9000 options include input disconnect, input fuses, HOA bypass controller, output filter, indicating lights, etc.

SVX9000 Performance

Compact, modular solution to variable speed applications.

At the core of the SVX9000 is sensorless vector control technology coupled with an adaptive motor model and sophisticated ASIC circuit features. The motor flux model is based on measurements of all three output currents and the voltage as given by the ASIC circuit. The model automatically identifies motor parameters for both the sensorless vector mode and the U/f mode, keeping track of changes in the parameters over time. The vector control is carried out in a system of stator flux coordinates, which is immune to small variations in measurements and motor parameters.

Sensorless Control Performance
The sophisticated sensorless flux vector control achieves the dynamic precision of closed loop motor control over most of the speed range:

  • Steady state speed error: < 0.5%
  • Torque rise time: < 10 ms

The Eaton's Cutler-Hammer CPX9000 Clean Power Drives use advanced 18-pulse, clean power, technology that significantly reduces line harmonics at the drive input terminals, resulting in one of the purest sinusoidal wave forms available.

Enhancements to the CPX9000 Clean Power Drives include smaller enclosures and higher temperature ratings that the CP9000 for selected drives.

The CPX9000 drive also delivers True Power Factor - in addition to reducing harmonic distortion, the CPX9000 drive prevents transformer overheating and overloading of breakers and feeders, which enables the application of adjustable frequency drives on generators and other high impedance power systems.

LCX9000 LIQUID COOLED

The LCX9000 Liquid Cooled Drive family continues Eaton's tradition of providing state-of-the-industry Cutler-Hammer products, by taking advantage of liquid cooling technology in lieu of air-cooling techniques. The LCX9000 drives are liquid-cooled products that utilize potable water or a water-glycol mixture as a cooling medium.

The liquid-cooled LCX9000 Drive is our most space-saving AC drive, well suited for locations where air-cooling would be difficult or expensive, or where the installation space is at a premium. As no air channels are required, the drives are extremely compact and suitable for ships and in the offshore industry, in mines or in the heavy industry. As almost all of the heat generated is removed in the coolant, a high degree of protection is easily achieved at all power ratings. The space savings compared to just the power module of a similarly rated air-cooled drive can be up to 70%. The liquid-cooled drives are built around the hardware and software modularity concept used through out the LCX9000 range. The liquid-cooled drives have a power section designed from the start for liquid cooling, contrasting with the more usual way of just replacing an air-cooled cooling element with a liquid cooled one. This design has allowed a great reduction in size.

Eaton's Cutler-Hammer common DC bus product portfolio fulfills solution demands with a flexible architecture. Built on the SPX9000 technology, the product family covers a number of front-end units and inverter units in the many power ranges.

Product Range

Eaton offers a comprehensive range of common DC bus drive products. The front-end units convert a mains AC voltage and current into a DC voltage and current. The power is transferred from the mains to a common DC bus (and, in certain cases, vice versa). The SPA9000 (active front-end) unit is a bi-directional (regenerative) power converter for the front end of a common DC bus drive line up. An external LCL filter is used at the input. This unit is suitable in applications where low mains harmonics are required. The SPN9000 (non-regenerative front-end) unit is a unidirectional (motoring) power converter for the front-end of a common DC bus drive line-up. The device operates as a diode bridge using diode/thyristor components. A dedicated external choke is used at the input. The unit has the capacity to charge a common DC bus. This unit is suitable as a rectifying device when a "normal" level of harmonics is accepted and no regeneration to the mains is required.

The SPI9000 Inverter Unit is a bidirectional DC-fed power inverter for the supply and control of AC motors. The inverter is supplied from a common DC bus drive line-up. A charging circuit is needed in case a connection to a live DC bus is required. The DC side charging circuit is integrated up to 75 kW (FR4 - FR8) and external for higher power ratings.
